Industry Insider: Understanding the Barcelona Principles
In organizations across every industry, proof of performance is important. So, as a PR firm, how do we show the value and impact of our work? We rely on a set of seven principles, known as the Barcelona Principles, which provide the overarching framework and industry-wide consensus for effective PR and communication measurement.
The principles were adopted by around 200 delegates from over 30 countries at the 2nd Annual European Summit on Measurement in Barcelona, Spain (hence Barcelona Principles) in 2010, convened by the International Association for Measurement and Evaluation of Communication (AMEC). The Barcelona Principles were modified in 2015 to reflect the changing public relations industry.
