Originally called The Music Hall when opened in 1894, the Modell Lyric hosts a variety of entertainment options, from Broadway shows and Operas, to stand-up comedians and speakers.
Officially named the Lyric Theatre in 1909, the center was home to the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra for over 65 years until 1982. In 2010 the venue welcomed its newest name, the Patricia & Arthur Modell Performing Arts Center at The Lyric, after the Modell family funded a renovation to modernize and expand parts of the building, which allowed for larger acts.
